“I am always doing things I can’t do; that’s how I get to do them.”
-Pablo Picasso
I will write a simple few words about myself: I was born and
raised in North Bergen, NJ. A product of many conditions, my parents
raised me well to be caring, curious, and seek knowledge. In what now
seems like a past life, I played piano. At the peak of my performing
arts youth, I performed a solo in a Jazz club in New Orleans. From an
early age, I had always taken an interest in science, the arts, and
nature. After finishing high school, I moved to Florida and began my
post-secondary education at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
I came to enjoy the rigors of engineering and worked
feverishly to complete my degrees while balancing work and a heavy
commute. After working for some time, I went back to school. I am
hopefully (read: finally) going to finish up my PhD very soon. I am
currently employed as a research assistant at USF (U Stay Forever?). I
would love to show you what I do… but nanotechnology is kind of small!
My research has taken me to every imaginable topic of study and many
geographical areas. When I’m not working on school-related endeavors,
I’m typically fixing some electronics or hardware around the house. My
interests include my cherry red Mustang, electronics design, hiking,
travel, video games, tennis, lasers, electronics music, and probably a
dozen things that fail to come to mind right now. I own many
oscilloscopes and my home smells of the finest solder fluxes.
