Welcome to Tampa!
Out of town guests can fly into one of Tampa's many airports. Your
first choice should be Tampa International Airport (
TPA)
located minutes from everywhere. It is a model of efficiency and
generally runs very fast. A second choice may be St.
Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (
PIE)
located across the bay. Be sure to find the lowest fare by using

mind the least expensive days to fly are usually mid-week.
Public Transportation:
Tampa, being more spread out than most cities, has a very poor public
transportation system. While there are no trains or subways to
ride, there is a bus system (
HART)
which can get you to most destinations, albeit slowly.
Ground Transportation:
We highly recommend that you have a car for your visit to Tampa.
Traffic is mild and parking is plentiful and inexpensive. There are many
rental
car options which are well connected to the local airports,
providing easy pick-up and drop-off options. If you cannot, or prefer not
to, drive there are
private shuttle services and
taxis which can ferry you
to your desired destinations.
Come Stay A While:
We're so excited that you're coming to visit. Do consider Florida as
a vacation spot too. Tampa is located a little over an hour from
Orlando and about 4 hours from Miami by car. Take in the the
beaches, zoos, wildlife, theme parks, museums, casinos, nightlife,
shopping, and low stress atmosphere. For a full list of vacation
filling ideas, click the link to the visitors guide and find one more
